Pantai Merdeka.
Pantai Merdeka is one of the most popular beaches on the mainland of Kedah located in Kuala Muda district, about 26 km from Sungai Petani and about 30 minutes drive. This place of interest is a perfect destination for one to see the another parts of nature interest as well enjoy the sea breeze of the one kilometer stretch long sandy beach shaded by trees. Located on fixed location on GPS at 5° 39’ 55” N 100° 22’ 0.2” E.

Furthermore, one is also could take a trip to Tanjung Dawai that was located just opposite of the Pantai Merdeka. One of the attraction here is a historical remnant of World War II bunker which was built in 1941 by the British to protect the inhabitants from falling bombs or other attacks from Japanese invasion. The main attraction would be the seaside and the Gunung Jerai scenery. Furthermore, this place of interest is also have been well develops with a car park, stalls, public wash room as well a resort for those who may stay for a night.

A beautiful place to go and recommended. I have been there for many times and now missing this place since I return to Sabah.
