SMK Gurun, 30.03.2017 – Seramai 135 penerima pelbagai anugerah telah menerima anugerah masing-masing dalam Majlis Anugerah Cemerlang SMK Gurun bagi tahun 2017. Majlis perasmian telah dirasmikan oleh YB Senator Dato’ Mohd. Suhaimi Abdullah yang turut memberi ucapan dalam majlis berkenaan. Sebelum itu, beliau telah memeriksa perbarisan kehormat di hadapan Dewan Sahara sambil diiringi oleh Tuan Pengetua SMK Gurun En. Marzuki bin Yahaya.
