SMK Gurun, 16 Februari 2017 – Pasukan Dikir Barat sekolah telah mempersembahkan satu persembahan dikir barat yang mantap di hadapan penonton di Dewan Kaktus sempena Majlis Larian Obor, 2017 yang mana SMK Gurun telah dipilih sebagai lokasi persinggahan larian obor sebelum larian diteruskan ke PKG Gurun pada hari yang sama.
